La película muda estadounidense Avaricia (Greed, 1924) fue dirigida por Erich von Stroheim, y se basa en la novela McTeague, escrita por Frank Norris en 1899.
En ella se analiza de manera magistral los diferentes tipos de avaricia. Es este uno de los siete pecados capitales o faltas humanas de la Iglesia Católica, junto con la ira, la gula, la soberbia, la lujuria, la pereza y la envidia. Todas estas desviaciones del comportamiento humano aparecen también, en mayor o menor medida, en algunos de los personajes de la película.

Reseña de la película “Green Book” (2018)

The film Green Book was launched in 2018 under the direction of Peter Farrelly. It is a film based on real events, which tells the story of a concert tour made by the pianist Don Shirley, along with his driver and bodyguard Tony Vallelonga, through the South of the United States, in the decade of the 60s of the last century. The film is named after a guidebook (The Negro Motorist Green Book) which was used at the time to find out where African Americans could stay when traveling.
